Orbital ATK’s Cygnus cargo craft is released from the International Space Station in this June 14, 2016, photograph by ESA astronaut Tim Peake. Once Cygnus reached a safe distance, ground controllers at NASA’s Glenn Research Center initiated the sequence for an experiment design to better understand how fire spreads in a microgravity environment.

シグナス物資補給機が国際宇宙ステーションから離脱
オービタルATK社のシグナス物資補給機が、2016年6月14日に国際宇宙ステーションから離脱するところをESAの宇宙飛行士ティム・ピークが撮影しました。シグナスは、NASAのグレン研究センターの制御により、微小重力環境における火災の延焼実験のため、いったん宇宙ステーションから安全な位置まで離されます。

Cygnus will continue to orbit Earth for up to eight days as it transmits hi-resolution imagery and data from the Saffire experiment. Following complete data transmission, the Cygnus spacecraft will complete its destructive entry into the Earth’s atmosphere on June 22.
シグナスは、この後地球を8周周回し、その間”Saffire experiment”（耐火実験）の高解像度画像を送信してきます。そのデータを送信し終えたのち、シグナスの機体は6月22日に地球の大気圏に突入して最期を迎えます。
