Expedition 48 Commander Jeff Williams of NASA returns to Earth Tuesday, Sept. 6, 2016, after a five-and-a-half-month mission aboard the International Space Station. Williams captured this photograph from the orbiting laboratory and wrote, “I will certainly miss this view! Vast gratitude toward my crewmates, ground teams, supporting friends, and family.”
Williams and Flight Engineers Oleg Skripochka and Alexey Ovchinin of Roscosmos will undock their Soyuz TMA-20M spacecraft at 5:51 p.m. EDT, officially ending the Expedition 48 mission. After a few hours they will parachute to a landing in Kazakhstan at 9:14 p.m. (7:14 a.m. Kazakhstan time Sept. 7.)

第48次長期滞在クルーの司令官であるNASAのジェフ・ウィリアムスは、国際宇宙ステーションに搭乗した5ヶ月半のミッションの後、2016年9月6日（火曜日）に地球に戻ります。ウィリアムズは、周回実験室からこの写真を撮影し、「この景色が見れなくなるので、寂しくなるだろうな！言葉にできないくらい大きな感謝の気持ちを、私の仲間たち、地上のサポートチーム、友人、家族に向かって贈るよ。」と書き込みました。
ウィリアムズと、フライトエンジニアのオレグ・スプリポッカと、ロスコスモスのアレクセイ・オブチィニは、正式に第48次のミッションを終了し、午前5時51分（EDT）にソユーズTMA-20M宇宙船で宇宙ステーションから離れます。数時間後、宇宙船はカザフスタンにパラシュートで降下して、着地する予定です。予定着地時刻は午前9時14分（カザフスタン時間で9月7日の午前7時14分）です。
